I remember going home many times for lunch and hearing the noon ag report with Conrad Burns and Taylor Brown.

Conrad went on to become a U.S. Senator from Montana.  Taylor moved up to owning and operating the Northern Broadcasting System with his family, and so much more.

Brown's reporting and voice became the most trusted in agriculture in the state and in the western region.  Northern Broadcasting has expanded to provide content to over 70 stations in four states in radio, television and digital: ag news, regular news, weather, sports and talk.

Taylor served in the state Senate from 2009 to 2016 and chaired the Agriculture Committee and the Education Committee.  His work in the Legislature opened the doors for Lockwood High School to open their doors.  He recently assisted in establishing the Lockwood FFA Alumni Chapter.

Brown is a past president of the National Association of Farm Broadcasting and was inducted into its Hall of Fame.

For the Billings Chamber of Commerce, Taylor served as a founder of its Ag Committee and labored upon its policies.  He even served pancake breakfasts for youngsters.

He has a number of accolades and awards over the years.  Billings just gave one more.

For his lifelong dedication to agriculture, youth, business and the rural lifestyle, Taylor Brown has received the 2024 Legacy Award from the Billings Chamber of Commerce.  This honor recognizes individuals who consistently improved the economy and way of life for everyone in the Billings community.  Taylor will be honored at the Chamber's Annual Meeting on October 22nd, 3:30 at the Pub Station.  You can purchase tickets at BillingsChamber.com.
