Christmas Music is a big deal and while people have varying opinions, for many Montanans the sounds of the season are one of the best parts of the holidays.  Oh sure, there are different TV shows and Christmas movies.  Rudolph, Frosty, Charlie Brown, Elf, Christmas Vacation, and The Christmas Story are all popular, but the music, well that is like walking down a candy can-filled memory lane.

Personally, I'm a fan of Christmas music and when it comes to picking my favorite, that's a tall order.  I love the old-school songs from Bing Crosby, Burl Ives, Nat King Cole, and the others.  However, I'm also a fan of some of the newer stuff as well.

So which Christmas song was named Montana's favorite? Before we reveal the answer to that question, let's take a look at some of our favorites from years past.

Originally recorded by Sir Paul McCartney back in 1980, the song has been re-done by various artists. The song has an upbeat feel with the use of different instruments including a synthesizer and while it's been around for over 40 years, you probably wouldn't call it traditional. However, you certainly can't argue that it hasn't stood the test of time.
