Winter Ag Tour from MSU Extension Kicks Off Jan 30th
Today, the MSU Extension for Yellowstone County announced the dates and events for the South-Central Winter Ag Tour!
What Is the Winter Ag Tour?
The South-Central Winter Ag Tour is put on by the MSU Extension Agents in Yellowstone, Musselshell-Golden Valley, Carbon, Big Horn, and Stillwater Counties to bring local areas workshops featuring presentations on winter-feeding cattle, annual grass identification and management, and risk management.
You are required to RSVP for any event, so please contact your local extension agent (Trestin Feagler for Yellowstone County at 406-256-2828 or trestinbenson@montana.edu) by January 25th.
When And Where?
The workshops are going to be spread across South-Central Montana:
- Lavina - January 30th at 4:30 PM - Lavina Senior Center, 117 Main Street
- Hardin - January 31st at 9:00 AM - Big Horn County Fairgrounds, 118 Sawyer Loop
- Huntley - January 31st at 1:30 PM - Huntley Project Museum, 770 Railroad Highway
- Columbus - February 1st at 8:30 AM - Stillwater County Civic Center, 16 Sheep Dip Road
- Joliet - February 1st at 1:30 PM - Joliet Community Center, 209 E Front Avenue
For 2024, speakers include:
- Dr. Megan Van Emon, MSU Extension Beef Cattle Specialist
- Lee Schmelzer, MSU Associate Specialist
- Tim Seipel, MSU Assistant Research Professor of Plant Ecology
- Noelle Orloff, Research Associate at MSU Schutter Diagnostic Lab
Again, the presentations will cover winter-feeding cattle, annual grass identification and management, and risk management.
