The Olympics Would Add These New Sports If Montana Hosted
Could you imagine if Montana hosted the Olympics? It would be a wild sight.
The Olympics
The 2024 Olympics in Paris are in full swing, and everyone loves watching these incredible athletes participate in their respective sports.
It's a fantastic time to watch sporting events you don't see on television often. Events like table tennis, surfing, fencing, and more are fully displayed.
Over the past few Olympics, host countries have added popular or significant sports to their culture or history. Japan added skateboarding, and Paris is introducing breakdancing to the Olympic games.
Los Angeles will bring American football to the games in 2028, and many NFL players are excited.
What if Montana Hosted The Olympics?
With new cities and countries adding new sports to the Olympics over the years, this brought up an idea. What events could introduced if Montana hosted?
We have a few ideas.
1. Rodeo
Rodeo is an instant addition to Montana hosting the Olympics in the summertime. Rodeos are popular among locals, and we could see several locals compete in the games. Adding a rodeo on a national stage would be a wild sight for many.
2. Fishing
Fly fishing would be a given if Montana hosted the Olympics. It's a recreational sport many enjoy, and catching the largest fish to win a gold medal would be an exciting accomplishment.
3. Dirt Biking

Could Montana Host the Olympics?
Montana hosting the Summer Olympics would be difficult due to the lack of facilities, but the Winter Olympics is a different story.
In 2014, a group tried to bid on the 2026 Winter Olympics to host in Bozeman and Big Sky.
There hasn't been another bid since, but trying to bid for the Olympic games is a financial cost that would be hard for many locals and the state to take on.
It seems Big Sky Country will never get to host the Olympics, but we can dream.
