Someone asked a very good question on the Flathead 411 Facebook page Saturday: What's with all the flags lining the highway towards Kila?

Paul Rivera had the answer: "Soldier successfully returning from Iraq today! We did 200 flags, for about 3 miles, on his route home!"

Check out the video of the great, patriotic welcome home in the comments:

I loved seeing all of the comments on the welcome home post in Kila.

Donna: Please tell him welcome home and thank you for his service!

Peggy: beautifully done! Welcome back to the beautiful Flathead in the USA! Thank you for your service Soldier!

Sandy: wow! That was a beautiful sight to see going from Marion to kalispell this morning!!

Kristina: It's absolutely beautiful. Please tell him thank you for his service 🙏 My family is eternally grateful for the men and women who sacrifice for our freedoms.

Karla:  saw this yesterday on my way to Libby!! I wondered what it was about but it was so amazing to see!! Welcome home soldier and thank you for your service!! God Bless You and God Bless America!!

While our friends in the Flathead welcomed home a returning soldier in Kila, it looks like there were more welcome home ceremonies in Great Falls and Helena.

As the Montana National Guard reports, "Soldiers of the Montana Army National Guard’s 1889th Regional Support Group returned to Montana over the course of the weekend following a nine-month deployment to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Inherent Resolve."

Here are some photos of their arrival in Helena and Great Falls. I even saw an old college buddy of mine with his family as he made it back home to Great Falls. Welcome home Tom!
