Football is the most popular sport in Montana, which is not entirely shocking. It's been the most popular sport in the United States for decades. In recent years, the NFL has seen its fanbase become an almost 50/50 split of male and female fans, according to a February 2024 report by marketing firm Zeta.

Montana women love football... and they like to play too.

Montana women have been football fans long before the "Taylor Swift Effect", and they're not just watching it on Sunday. The Lady Montana Fierce Football program is a collective of Billings area women athletes ages 18 - 50 who play contact flag football.

Catch the action on June 1 at Rocky Mountain College

The Montana Lady Fierce currently has two games per year. The first one of the season is on June 1, 2024, vs. Miles City at Herb Klindt Field on the Rocky Mountain College campus. Kickoff is at 7 PM and all proceeds benefit breast cancer awareness and survivors of domestic abuse. Tickets are just $5, kids 10 and under are free. Game details HERE.

Montana Fierce Sports comprises "moms, professionals in their fields, volunteers in the community, and the occasional roller derby or softball player". Why does Montana Fierce Football sound familiar?

The Montana Fierce Sports umbrella includes a 5th and 6th-grade AAU tackle football program, designed to hone players in the Billings area. They debuted in 2019 and their first year they won the Hall of Fame Regional Game. According to their page,

MFS core values (Family, Integrity, Effort, Respect, Courage, and Excellence) are weaved into all aspects of the program and are reinforced as youth athletes develop into young adults.
