One Great Reason for a Quick Trip to Bozeman this Weekend
The Museum of the Rockies is having its first-ever MOR Day.
We're seriously considering jumping in the car this weekend and heading to Bozeman. On February 25th, the renowned Museum of the Rockies throws open its doors for a free admission day, offering an incredible opportunity to explore the wonders of the natural world and human history (while saving $20 per adult admission). Thanks to generous support from US Bank, admission is free for the first-ever MOR Day.
Here's why you shouldn't miss this chance.
Dinosaurs.
Montana is synonymous with dinosaurs, and the Museum of the Rockies boasts one of the largest collections of North American dinosaurs in the world, many examples are specimens found in Montana and surrounding states. Explore galleries overflowing with fossils, interactive exhibits, and more.
Beyond Big Bones.
Dinosaurs aren't the only stars of the show. Immerse yourself in Montana's rich cultural heritage through Native American artifacts, explore the Lewis and Clark expedition's legacy, and delve into the geological marvels that shaped Yellowstone National Park and Montana's landscape.

Planetarium.
Museums might seem stuffy, but the Museum of the Rockies is anything but. I remember my first time at the MOR Planetarium, and it was awesome. The planetarium is currently screening “Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity” and “Chasing the Ghost Particle” under its 40-foot dome.
Comic book fans will love a special exhibit.
One of the visiting exhibits currently on display at the Museum of the Rockies is worth noting for those fond of comics. “Marvelocity: The Art of Alex Ross,” showcases original multimedia art from Ross’s most recent book. The MOR notes,
Considered one of the greatest artists in the field of comic books, Ross has revitalized classic superheroes into works of fine art. Attendees will learn about how he developed into an illustrator through childhood drawings, sketches, paintings, video, and 3D busts of Marvel Comics characters.
Late winter in Bozeman is a great time to visit.
Spring fever is popping in Montana and this weekend will feel especially pleasant across most of the state. Combine your museum visit with exploring the charming Bozeman downtown, indulging in great food and fantastic brews, while soaking in the breathtaking scenery. Perhaps grab some fresh Bobcat gear or hit Bridger Bowl on Sunday while you're in town. It's the perfect late winter escape.
The museum store offers unique souvenirs and educational resources (my spouse loves their gift shop!). Doors open on FREE DAY at the MOR at 9 am and close at 5 pm. Parking can be busy, so consider arriving early. While you can whiz through the museum quickly, if you'd like, guests can plan on spending a few hours taking in all of the exhibits.
