Texting In The Movie Theater: Stop It!
If you saw yesterday's post, you'll know I'm proud to not have the Creepy Old Man gene, but there is a chance I have the Grumpy Old Man gene. Or do I? I'm surprised everyone isn't annoyed by people who text in the movies, but when I brought this up on the air, I had a bunch of people call to tell me it's no big deal. I don't know if it's a "big deal", but I do know that it's pretty obnoxious and distracting.
I went to a movie last night and there was a girl in the theater who was basically carrying on a convo for the entire movie. She had her volume muted, but you could hear the "EHH EHH" vibration every few minutes, followed by the glow of her phone. I don't get it. Why not just leave the theater, wrap it up, and come back?
Today I saw that Apple may be adding "Theater Mode" to the next release of IOS so you can text in the movies and be less distracting to those around you. I guess for me, there is nothing in my life so important that it can't be put on pause for a few while I watch a movie that I paid for.
