If you drive downtown Billings on a regular basis, be aware that the 27th Street intersection between Montana Avenue and 1st Ave South is closed. The road closure began on 9/16. I contacted the City and they referred me to Montana Rail Link and MDOT for details, as the repairs are not a city project.

The rep I spoke with at MRL said they anticipate the closure to last at least two weeks (possibly more) as they completely rebuild the railroad crossing. Hopefully, they'll smooth out those train tracks a little bit! It was getting pretty, pretty rough. In the meantime, give yourself a couple of extra minutes driving downtown.

When this project is done, another one is scheduled to begin at the end of the month on a large portion of Montana Avenue. We'll keep you posted on the details.
