Dragons, Unicorns and Mermaids: Mythic Creatures is on display at the Museum of the Rockies through the rest of 2024 to January 5th. I had pointed out the allure and fraud involving Mermaids. Now let's put our feet on dry land for more cryptids.
Walk around the big dragon and past the giant eagle to meet a really big ostrich-like land bird with the legs of a baby elephant. The little tree trunks are there, just like the elephant's, to support the weight.

A skull like this fabricated the mythical one-eyed giant Cyclops. What is it actually? An elephant. But the ancient Greeks never seen an elephant. So what were they to think?
A Spicy Story of a Yeti Lover, rated PG-13 or maybe R
Warning: The following includes sexual content. Reader discretion is advised.
Sasquatch, Bigfoot, the Abominable Snowman, the Yeti. Nearly every culture has its hairy bipedal, viewed with fascination and some fear. How about with intimacy?
An Oriental painting depicts the story of a merchant in the Himalayan region encountering a similar and female creature called an Almas. One captured the other, and then events turned hot (wink). The trader returned with her pregnant, and she bore him a son who would later create and lead a monastery. The narrative illustration includes their lovemaking.
I'll bet you're wishing I took a picture of this. Naw, if you want to see this, go to the Museum of the Rockies.
