Deadly Opioids Hit Billings
*News story below*
{Opinion} Such a sad addiction... I am personally glad that President Trump is calling for a health emergency/ crisis in America because of these drugs. I just recently read that over 100 deaths a day, here in America, are caused by opioid overdoses. 100 DEATHS A DAY! We already have a huge problem here in Billings with meth. And now we are going to see Fentanyl creep in. There has got to be a way to crack down on this problem... We can't keep losing members of our community to such terrible addictions.
KBUL Newsroom - The opioid abuse epidemic, now officially a public health crisis, has not spared Montana, with powerful, deadly drugs now hitting the region. Fentanyl is a synthetic opiod between 50 and 100 times more potent than morphine, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Carfentanil is a fentanyl analogue used to tranquilize large animals like elephants. Carfentanil showed up recently in lab results following an overdose death, according to Billings Police Sgt.
