Crickett is Billings' featured adoptable pet this week.

Each week we have the pleasure of meeting a new dog from Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter, with our Wet Nose Wednesday segment. Our featured pet this week is a sweetheart named Crickett.

Crickett is an 18-month-old Pointer mix. It's hard to guess her exact lineage, but some of her features resemble a hound dog or Beagle, with maybe a little bit of Labrador in the mix somewhere. She's medium-sized and weighs around 45 pounds.

Crickett came to the shelter as a transfer.

Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter coordinates with other shelters and rescue organizations around the state (and country), and Crickett arrived at YVAS as a transfer from Dog Tag Buddies, a fantastic non-profit that helps train and provide service animals for veterans in Montana.

Looking for a loving home.

Crickett seems like a gentle, affectionate dog, who enjoys playing with toys and treats. She was a bit timid during her in-studio visit but warmed up quickly to an unfamiliar environment.

Derek Wulf, Humane Outreach Coordinator at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter said Crickett does well in the car and on a leash. She's looking for a loving family to share adventures and playtime with and would probably do best with an active lifestyle.

Where are they now?

We often wonder about our previous Wet Nose Wednesday adopted pets. Townsquare Media Contributor Jaci Bjorne recently ran into a former WNW dog at a brewery in town. Perhaps you recall 'Tuckums', an energetic dog that ended up at the shelter because he liked to chase chickens.

Long story short, Tuckums (he now goes by Buddy), was adopted by a gentleman back in February. The guy came to the shelter and asked to see the dog who had been there the longest. It was Tuckums. They're now best friends and hearing this adoption story warms our hearts.
