Big Montana "cities" like Missoula, Bozeman and Billings have the events and celebrations almost every weekend.  But a small town can have a good time too.  Lavina Montana, about 45 miles north of Billings, is hosting a community get together called Living Large in Lavina, this Saturday, June 15th, from soon after sunup through the evening to sundown.

Bring the comfy clothes and your cash for a more laid back Summer day.

Fuel up for the fun at the Pancake Breakfast, brought to you by the Volunteer Fire Department.  This fundraiser is located at the fire hall right behind the Adams Hotel, starting at 7:00 in the morning until 10:00.

From there, you have some options for the morning:

Tour the Adams Hotel

Step through the front door and into the 1900s.  Period furnishings and art.  Maybe a ghost or two.  Tours are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Noon and 2:00 p.m.

But that's not the only historical building in Lavina.  Other structures will be open for walking through between 10:00 and 3:00.  I hope the Bank of Lavina will be one of them.  Closed for over 100 years, I can still see in the imagination customers riding up to the front door on horseback or in carriages.

Marketplace in the Park

Vendors will be available in the local park from 10:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon.  Here is the best jump start to the upcoming Holiday shopping season.  Get some gifts early for the tree.

Need Lunch?

What?  Pancakes left you already??  Not to worry.  Food trucks will have a variety of cuisine from 11:00 to 4:00.  C'mon, try something new.

Activities for the Kids

They gettin' fidgety?  The Lavina School Association and 4-H will have fundraising events for the youngsters from 11:00 to 2:00, to help them burn that energy (and help the parents too, heehee)

Street Dance

In the warm evening with fading light, get your groove thing on from seven to ten at night.  Be ready for any music, from rock to country.

Whew, after all that, won't you be glad Sunday is a day of rest.
