‘Stranger Things’ Heartthrob Joe Keery Cut His Whimsical Mane and the Internet Can’t Deal
When Stranger Things premiered in 2016, Joe Keery's character Steve Harrington was less than lovable. He was kind of a tool, actually. But by the end of the first season he was on the path to redemption. His dad/babysitter role to the boys in Season 2 was downright adorable, and by Season 3 he was a fan favorite (and certified heartthrob). But can you picture daddy Steve without his flowing locks? Neither can we, but he's forcing the image upon us. And, ahem, it's not great.
Not only did he shear off his whimsical mane, but he did the unspeakable to it. Joe Keery got a—brace yourself for this—bowl cut. The 27-year-old debuted his new 'do at the launch of a new Chanel fragrance on Thursday night (September 12) and when a photo hit the Internet, all hell broke loose. Twitter mourned the loss of his now iconic look and questioned his stylistic choices. Perhaps he cut his hair for a role or wanted a more Beatles-esque style now that he's a blossoming rock star?
No matter the reason, people hate it. Check out some of the best responses below, but be warned: you won't be able to unsee the bowl cut.
