Yesterday, around sunset, I was heading west on Grand and it was quite a struggle to see with so much sun in my face.  Not just me...I saw plenty of drivers with their visors down and arm up trying to keep the sun out of their eyes.

The sun setting in the west isn't exactly new thing, so why am I bringing this up?  Here's the point:  When the sun is low and you've got westbound traffic, there's always the possibility that drivers don't have great visibility and you should keep it in mind.  Even if you have the right of way at one of the uncontrolled intersections on the sidestreets, don't chance it.

For the bicyclists (who are completely within their rights to ride on most of the roadways) riding west bound near sunset could be deadly if you have a driver behind you struggling to see.
