The news story is below but first... thoughts from myself.

WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU WANT TO STARVE AND ABUSE YOUR CHILD?!

The amount of these news stories that I see everyday here in Billings is appalling. It's appalling and disgusting. If you cannot take care of a child and worse - if you feel like physically hurting your child - take them to a family member or take them to an emergency drop off with the police or hospital. A friend? Hell, I don't know... drop them off on a strangers door step with a note! I have a feeling most strangers would have more compassion for a child than this kids parents!!!

I am not a parent yet but I do want a couple of children of my own and if I ever EVER had even an inkling of a thought to hurt my kid I WOULD SEEK HELP. I would tell family and find professional help immediately because I know that that is WRONG. If you hurt your own child and don't seek help or lie about it or don't think it is wrong then there is something deeply wrong with you and you do no deserve to raise your child until you are better. I'd like to think sending these two to prison would help but I don't think it would.  Years of psychiatry visits is probably better!

KBUL Newsroom - According to charges filed in Yellowstone County District Court, a Billings couple starved, burned, and tied up their pre-school-aged son with rope and duct tape. KTVQ.com reports that 49-year-old Cornelius Mitchell and his 40-year-old wife, Julie, are charged with two counts of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, three counts of assault on a minor and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. The abuse is alleged to have begun in October 2014, when the boy was 3 years old. The couple took their son to a Billings hospital in February for seizures, when hospital staff noted that the boy was dangerously thin and had bruises, scabs and injury marks all over his body. His body temperature was a hypothermic 93 degrees. When asked about the boy’s injuries, the Mitchells claimed that he did it to himself.
