
10 Unique Ways MT Dog Owners Celebrate Mealtime With Their Dogs
Happy National Pet Week! A new poll for National Pet Week looked at how much we pamper our dogs, specifically at mealtime. It turns out we don't just slop that food into a bowl anymore.
The poll according to NY Post found 44% of dog owners have at the very least one mealtime "ritual" for their pup. The top ones include saying something special like a key word or phrase when it's time to eat. Also giving them a treat as an appetizer, while16% people will sometimes plate their dog's food like it's a gourmet meal!
In Montana approximately 51.9% of households own pets according to. This is according to American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) statistic reflects the growing trend of pet ownership across the United States.
Here are the top ways that we make dinnertime extra special for our dogs!
1. Always putting food in a specific spot, or a specific dish. 48% of us do this.
2. Adding an extra special ingredient, like chicken broth or a meal "topper," 38%.
3. Hand-mixing that food to make it more appetizing, 30%.

4. Saying a special word or phrase before feeding them, 22%.
5. Giving them an extra treat as an appetizer, 20%.
6. Plating their meal as if you're preparing a gourmet dish for a fancy dinner party, 16%.
7. Heating it up to a very specific temperature, 15%.
8. Setting the table and sitting down with them to eat at the same time, 14%. That is next level.
9. Letting them "choose" their food by offering options to see what they go for, 12% of us do that.
10. Using specific utensils to serve their meal, 12%. This one make sense as you may not want to use the same fork to dig out wet dog food out of a can that you use for kids' dinner.
11. Singing a song when you serve them dinner, 9%. Din din din dinner time!!
12. Dancing with your dog, 9%. 21% said their dog does "a little dance" when it's time to eat. So, some of us join in. I mean how can you not? It is too cute when they get to bouncing around in that full blown puppy dance mode!
And for the last stat, and it shows how our dogs are the ones training US! 70% of owners say that if they're even a minute late with dinner, their dog lets them know about it.
